Remote Psychotherapy and CBT
Let's Talk Psychosis
Hearing voices or other sounds, seeing things that might not be there, and feelings of suspicion and paranoia can all be symptoms of psychosis or place someone at risk of developing psychosis in the future.
If you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms of psychosis, know that you are not alone, and that this is not a life sentence. Psychosis can be a frightening and confusing experience, and it's natural to feel overwhelmed if you are experiencing hallucinations, suspicious thoughts, and disrupted thinking. But it's important to remember that with the right support and treatment, there is hope for recovery and a fulfilling life ahead.
Psychosis doesn't have to define your future. Many people who experience psychosis go on to lead happy, healthy lives. The key lies in seeking help early and committing to a therapeutic journey. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has been proven to be highly effective in treating psychosis. It focuses on understanding the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and equips you with tools to manage and overcome the challenges you face.
Through personalised therapy sessions, we work together to identify and understand your experiences, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. My approach is compassionate and non-judgmental, aiming to empower you and restore a sense of control over your life.
Recovery is not just possible; it is within reach. Each step you take towards understanding and managing your symptoms brings you closer to reclaiming your life and well-being. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, and you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.
If you or someone you care about is experiencing symptoms of psychosis, please reach out. I am here to support you every step of the way, providing a safe space to explore your experiences and work towards a bright future. Together, we can turn the page from fear and confusion to hope and recovery.
I know how frustrating it can be being stuck on waiting lists, or being passed from pillar to post between doctors, therapists, and services who either don't understand or don't have the expertise to work with people experiencing psychosis or psychosis-like symptoms. It can be bewildering, leaving you feeling lost and hopeless.
